Vintage Signed TS-68 Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver Geometric Door Knocker Earrings
Circa 1980s. Made in Mexico.
Underside of one earring is stamped "MEXICO TS-68 925".
Circa 1979, the eagle system was put to rest and replaced by a new letter/number mark to indicate the silversmith and guarantee sterling standard. The “T” represents Taxco, and the “S” represents the first initial of the silversmith. The number indicates that the maker is the 68th smith, with a name beginning with S, to register a mark in their city's assay office.
Each earring measures approximately 1.95 inches long by 0.9 inch wide (at widest points).
Earrings have a combined weight of approximately 18.12 grams (not including earring backs).
In good condition. Silver has some patina as expected with age & wear, but can be polished if you desire. Please see all photos.
