The 1780 Maria Theresa Thaler is an iconic silver coin that was the most widely used trade currency in history. Because of its popularity, it has been continuously restruck with the frozen date of 1780.
Maria Theresa was the ruler of the Habsburg monarchy from 1740 until her death in 1780, and the only woman to hold the position in her own right.
Front of pendant is stamped "800" for 800 silver & appears to have a maker's mark, "KB".
Pendant measures approximately 1.8 inches in diameter, or 2.25 inches long (including bail).
Clasp of chain is stamped "835" & has "EKSTRO" maker's mark.
Ekstro (also found as Estro) is a maker's mark associated with vintage European, mid-century modernist, and Arts and Crafts jewelry, often hailing from Germany, Austria, or Scandinavia.
Chain measures approximately 32 inches long and has a spring ring clasp.
Necklace weighs approximately 46.66 grams, in its entirety.
