Modeled after a circa 1907 French Art Nouveau brooch.
This pin with a lovely young woman in profile, her flowing hair encircled with diamonds and a band of rhinestones around her neck, represents the height of the naturalistic and romantic flowering of the Art Nouveau period.

Back of brooch is signed “DVB” with copyright symbol, for Diane Von Basedow.
The ALVA Museum Co. (1948-1990) was founded by Alfred Wolkenberg of Vienna. His studio hired many artists produce high quality reproductions of ancient jewelry and sculpture found in museums worldwide. This particular piece bears the marks of artist Diane Von Basedow Collection whose trademarks were first issued in 1977. Highly collectible!
