Back of brooch is signed “D-A” with scales symbol, “NORWAY”, & “925S STERLING”.
David Andersen was a Norwegian goldsmith born in 1843 in Norway. In 1876, he established his own silverware and jewellery company in Oslo, experimenting from the beginning with enamel decoration. In 1942 the company name was hyphenated to David-Andersen and they began marking the jewellery with D-A.
David-Andersen enamel jewellery was always and still is, highly sought after. Their enamel jewellery often features vibrant colors, geometric patterns, and nature-inspired motifs.
Brooch measures approximately 2.4 inches long by 1.45 inches wide.
Weighs approximately 13.77 grams.
In excellent condition with no noticeable flaws. Silver may have some minor patina as expected with age & wear, but can be polished if you desire. Please see all photos.
