Back of brooch is signed “BROOKRAFT STERLING”.
Brookraft Inc, a New York based jewelry company, was founded in the late 1930s, but ceased to exist by 1952. Brookraft was well known during the post war years and appeared in many magazines of the time, including Vogue. The company’s craftsmen created jewelry by hand, traditionally using sterling silver, gold, art glass, faux or cultured pearls, Austrian crystals, and the highest quality rhinestones. Brookraft pieces are rare and highly prized by collectors.
