
Antique 19th Century Victorian German Gunmetal Expandable Lorgnette Glasses Eyeglasses
Circa late 19th century (1880s), Victorian Era.
A simply lovely and unusual Victorian era expandable lorgnette. This simple yet beautiful lorgnette is made of a gunmetal frame and has 2 round reading glasses set within it. The lorgnette is hinged at the nose and swings open mechanically when pushed.
The nose bridge is stamped "GERMANY" and "GUNMETAL".
When closed, measures approximately 3.5 inches long (top of lens to bottom of handle).
When open, measures approximately 3.8 inches long (end of lens to lens). Each lens has a diameter of approximately 1.5 inches.
