Vintage Parsons’ Casket Hardware Co. Our Darling Nickel Casket Name Plate in Box
The Parsons Casket Hardware Company manufactured decorative metal fittings, handles, and crucifixes for caskets in Belvidere, Illinois, from the early 1900s until 1982.
The plates, which might be made of many different types of cast or hammered metal such as brass, polished tin, pewter, silver-plate and even solid silver, were engraved with the name and dates of the deceased and sometimes with an emblem or short motto like “Baby” or “At Rest” (in this case, “Our Darling”). The plate might be left on the coffin, to be buried, or might be removed by the undertaker before the burial and given to the family.
Casket plate measures approximately 4.7 inches long by 2.2 inches wide.
Comes in original box.
Plate has two small holes on either side for mounting, as pictured.
In good condition for its age, with no noticeable flaws. Please see all photos.
