
Antique Art Deco 1920s MANDALIAN MFG Co. Multicolor Enameled Metal Mesh Purse Handbag
Circa 1920s, Art Deco.
The owner of Mandalian Mfg. Co. was Sahatiel Garabed Mandalian, a Turkish immigrant who emigrated to the United States in 1898.
In 1906, Mandalian entered into partnership with Eugene A. Hawkins; at this time the firm was known as Mandalian & Hawkins.
In 1915, Mandalian incorporated his business, which was now known as the Mandalian Mfg. Co. This firm was one of the major manufacturers of mesh purses.
Beautifully ornate metal frame depicting birds, flowers, and art deco shapes. Intrictaely painted mesh in colors of blue, white, and pink.
Purse measures approximately 7.9 inches long (from top of frame to lowest hanging bead) by 4.25 inches wide.
Chain measures approximately 6 inches long from top of chain to top of frame.
In good condition for its age with some greenish patina on backside (as pictured). Should be handled with care. Please see all photos.
